The RE220 Wi-Fi range extender is designed to expand your existing wireless coverage with the next-generation 11AC Wi-Fi technology. It seamlessly works with any standard Wi-Fi router, creating stronger dual-band connections in hard-to-reach areas, allowing you to enjoy uninterrupted wireless coverage throughout your home or office.
The RE220 offers APS (Adaptive Path Selection), which enables the dual-band or tri-band range extender to dynamically select the best backhaul connection between 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 5GHz2 bands, ensuring the RE220 and the router have the optimal connection, thus maintaining better overall Wi-Fi performance.
Comparable to the NETGEAR AC750 Wi-Fi Range Extender (EX3700-100NAS), the RE220 boasts maximum wireless transmission rates derived from the IEEE 802.11 specifications. The range and coverage specifications, as well as the number of connected devices, are defined based on test results under normal usage conditions. Actual wireless transmission rate, coverage, and the number of connected devices may vary due to various factors, including building materials, physical objects and obstacles, network conditions (interference, traffic volume and density, product location, network complexity, and network overhead), and client limitations (rated performance, location, connection quality, and client condition).
The RE220 operates in a temperature range of 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F). Compared to single-band N300 Wi-Fi extenders, the dual-band RE220 offers up to 44% more bandwidth. It can boost your Internet Wi-Fi coverage up to 1200 square feet and connect up to 30 devices (2.4GHz: 300Mbps; 5GHz: 433Mbps).
By eliminating Wi-Fi dead zones, the RE220 ensures a lag-free connection to any type of device, including wired devices via the Fast Ethernet port. It is compatible with a wide range of operating systems, including Microsoft Windows 98SE, NT, 2000, XP, Vista, or Windows 7, 8, 10, as well as Mac OS, NetWare, UNIX, or Linux.
The RE220 allows you to expand your Wi-Fi coverage for a variety of devices, such as smartphones, smart TVs, Fire Sticks, Google Chromecasts, and Alexa Echo devices, among others. The easy two-tap setup and the smart indicator light help you install the extender in the optimal location.
Additionally, the RE220 features OneMesh technology, which enables the creation of a OneMesh network for seamless roaming when paired with the Archer A7 Router (with more devices to be updated in the future). The Ethernet port of the RE220 can also turn your wired Internet connection into a wireless access point or function as a wireless adapter to connect wired devices, such as Blu-ray players, game consoles, or smart TVs.
It's important to note that all Wi-Fi extenders are designed to increase or improve Wi-Fi coverage, not to directly increase speed. In some cases, improving signal reliability can affect overall throughput.
